If the fight between wants and needs isn't for survival, bet on the wants

Searls' 1st Law: Logic and reason sit on the mental board of directors, but emotions cast the deciding votes.

About nine administrations ago, when I was young and arrogant without cause, I compiled a list of Searls Laws that was so weak I forget all but the first one, listed above.

I say "listed," because I'm going to try adding some more, and not just my own, over the coming days.

I dunno why. Just for the hell of it. The idea came to me in the shower this morning, and somehow escaped the drain. A lot of blogging starts that way, though not always with the same plumbing.
