Gas from the past
This was 30 years ago. Maybe 29. Not sure. In any case, more than half a long life.
Among those pictured is Celeste Wesson, in the front row. She went from WDBS (the partial staff of which that picture shows) to a long career in public radio. Last summer she was named Senior Producer for Marketplace.

I was on the phone with Kevin Werbach a few minutes ago, talking about decentralization, the theme of his Supernova conference, when a new word came to me: demediation. I just wrote about it over in IT Garage. Yesterday we made comments visible there, so feel free to leave some.

The Net's sense of anonymity (or rather, its sense of physical location as a proxy for identity) has been "good enough," to this point. But as the Net becomes more integrated with business systems and with the components of our everyday lives, it is essential that the Net retain its greatest strengths and evolve to meet the challenges of identity.
TV will fail
Phillip Swann, whose column TVPredictions.com serves as something of a blog (but without syndication, so far), predicts that Moxi will fail. Context: he also predicts that TiVo will succeed.
