Forward-looking posts
Now that I sort-of-understand TrackBack, James Cox introduces me (personally, at Garlic & Shots last night) to TrackForward:
So my proposal is a protocol to do a reverse - trackback: a TrackForward. (or PingForward). When I post, i can select or paste urls to TrackForward, notifying a person's aggregator/blog/email/im that i've posted something that i think they might be interested in.
It was even more fun than it appeared
Reports on last night's gathering at Garlic & Shots from Julian Elvé, James Cox, Euan Semple, Gary Turner and others I'll get to later...
In attendance: Suw Charman (who teaches Welsh, among many other things), Cory Doctorow, Tom Dolan, Tom Coates (who points to this photo gallery by James), Danah Boyd, Yoz Grahame, Paul Hammond, Paula Le Dieu...
Next up: Joi & Loïc's thing in London on 12 May.
Missing on the Web
Why is there almost nothing about Packard Bambergers, the amazing old department and food store in Hackensack?
And why are there no pictures of the Grace Marchand Garden in San Francisco?
Just wondering, relaxing this evening at Euan's house in Buckinghamshire, watching a show on the telly about gardens and other Nice Things.
Radiations
Found this amazing site that shows all kinds of information about UK radio and TV transmitters. Some 404s behind some links, but otherwise full of interesting info. To an old radio freak like me, at least.
Reminds me of the Fybush site in the U.S.
Email is a slum
Just a thought, as I watch several hundred spam load down.
