Tech notice
Free admission to SDForum ETech SIG on Microformats. To the SD Forum, tonight, Palo Alto. Cubberly. Free admission, free pizza. I might go. Not sure. I'm pretty tired.
Same picture, new frame
Mark Schmidt reframes Abramoff. Where's George Lakoff when we need him?
Specifically, This is not a lobbying scandal. It's a betrayal-of-public-trust scandal.
Land of Steve
Getting online at Steve Jobs' keynote with bridging help from Steve Gillmor, who has one of those Verizon cell thingies. Nice.
I'll be doing my reporting at IT Garage.
[Later...] Okay, it's a wrap. Much easier to take notes at this keynote than at Intel's talk at CES last week, thanks to Steve Jobs' slow pacing of hard info sandwiched between long demos.
Engadget has the play-by-play. My report is more of a highlight film.
In harm
Sheila Lennon details the story, with lots of links, about Jill Carroll, the Christian Science Monitor reporter kidnaped in Iraq. Here's the Washington Post story.
An idea
Let's say Congress decided that it would make sense for highspeed (truly highspeed -- at least 14 Mbps both up and down, not 200 Kbps) access to the internet to be considered a public utility.
The DRM beat
Shelley wants us to have a good argument about DRM. And she provides the forum, in Debate on DRM, over at her blog.
Lots of posts there. Lots more to come, I'm sure.
