'lishness

CNN features a John Batelle piece on Foo Camp from Business 2.0 (which hides its goods behind a membership wall). Note the photo credit. Fun surprise.

Writing this from a free wi-fi hot spot at SFO, by the way, en route to Las Vegas. I just spent a record length of time having my carry-on luggage searched and tested. This is why my only anality in life is arriving at airports early.

None of the above

From Nerve.com: Which Presidential Candidate Are You... in Bed?

Thanks to John Dowdell for the pointer.

A world of producers

The New Economy Hack: Turning Consumers into Producers, is my report from Macworld for Linux Journal.

One additional note. A number of Microsoft employees at the show told me that the company decided not to continue working on Internet Explorer for OS X because there was no upside to competing with the platform vendor's own free product. For help in plumbing the ironies of that one, revisit Dave's Platform is Chinese Household, from 1994.

Wondering out loud... what kind of household is the platform we call the Net, or the Web? I don't have an answer, by the way. I just think it's a question that's worth asking.
