Shaken, not stirred
Waves in our pool tell me aftershocks are still going on. So does this:

The ripples say it's also raining:
This has been going on for quite a while. Should mean two things: 1) Mudslides in the San Gabriels, where the fires denuded the mountsides a few months ago; 2) Great skiing in the Sierras.
[Later...] Here's the first mudslide news. And some of what we can expect. Aside from fires, here's the real, and much deeper, reason for the risk.
Sweet streams
My vote for the best Chrismas music station, on air or Web, is WCPE/89.7 from Raleigh. We've been listening all day here in Santa Barbara, where we pick up the station's MP3 stream from Ibiblio and output its 128kb stereo audio to a Ramsey FM-100 transmitter, which broadcasts a nice clean signal on 90.5.
Lights on
Merry Christmas from rainy Santa Barbara.
Tuesday night we took a trolley tour of the town's well-lighted districts. Had a great time. I shot a roll of pixels and put the gallery up here.
eDem
The Emergent Democracy Forum will be a one-day event happening alongside the O'Reilly Emerging Technology Conference (eTech) in San Diego on Monday, February 9, 2004. I've been involved with planning the event since the idea was first raised during a casual conversation at OSCON last Summer.
Should be a lot of fun.
