Blog Power at work

You may recall Nettle (Brian Dear) vs. ACLU (here's Part 2) which led me in September to call Brian's opponent the American Crapmail Loading Union.

Well, Brian reports that the ACLU user experience now allows members signing up to opt into come-ons from allied orgs.

Blogs DO make a difference, he concludes.

More evidence: Meetup founder Scott Heiferman credits a blog with getting him met up with the 37 Signals folks. (I still love those guys' eNormicom, a satirical naming system for dot-com companies, created during the height of the insanity.)

Already?

It's December, the electric calendar tells me. Sheezis. Time doesn't just fly anymore. It screams.

What a terrible irony that time only goes faster as you get older. In less than 14 years I'll be 70. At the current rate, it'll seem like next week.

Anyway, we're back. Turned out I was in no shape to leave yesterday afternoon, but as of 3am I felt good enough. We left at 4:30, and dropped the kid off at school at 8:45. Not bad.

I'm still not 40%, much less 100% (which is probably about 50% of what I was at 30). But it's good to be back, even if the calendar is full of urgent reminders.
