Building on the move

ExpressMore has discovered TechoLatin. Too bad that last piece doesn't mention BuzzPhraser. Even though BuzzPhraser was born in 1991 (and retains its original lexicon), most of what it generates seems as current as ever:

Underwater surfers beware

The world's largest tide turbine (looks and works like a wind power generator, but under water) will be installed in Strangford Lough in Northern Ireland this August. It will deliver 1.2 megawatts to about a thousand homes.

I just found another item for the growing list of fun things I'm too old to do: Stand up paddling. Writes Charles Agar,

Stand-up paddling follows the same principles as whitewater kayaking, and the moving current still makes all the rules. Peeling out of an eddy means leaning downriver, and navigating the current is more about core strength than burly paddle strokes.

And, the best part was that riding the precarious board made the trickling class I flows of Stillwater come alive.
