Surfing for beach music
Will somebody please give WODR radio a website and a way to put their playlist up on the Web?
While it's a bummer not to find the beach music stations I heard here three years ago (or whenever it was...sorry, can't find the links) gone the way of nearly every other good thing on the radio, I was amazed to find a pile of great beach music, outstanding blues, gospel, motown and lots of top-notch obscurities being played on 105.3, and a station by the name of WODR. I see here that WODR has no website and a modest signal coming from nowhere near any large town. But they do get into Wilmington, the NC beaches, and Myrtle Beach in South Carolina, sort of. Here's a coverage map.
Here's a list of beach music sources on the Web.
And here's another site that explains beach music and shag dancing (not to be confuzzed with the British slang term.)
