Dial(og) tone returns

I haven't pointed it out (since it wouldn't have helped the problem), but comments have been disabled for the last couple days at both Linux Journal and IT Garage, which are both Drupal sites. The problem was comment spam, which is a huge freaking issue if you like having dialog on your site or your blog.

Anyway, thanks to much hard work on the part of Keith Daniels, comments are back. So feel free to read and remark at Re-grokking Grokster, Ganglog, or anything else at either site.

Life on the Information Rest Stop

It's 10pm Saturday night. The kid just went to sleep here in the tent at the campground. We just came back from a "fireside theater" show that consisted of a Q&A by firefighters that made me wonder why they allow campfires here at all. This time of year, California is approximatley 100% flammable. It hasn't rained in months, and most of the campground fire pits are surrounded by dry grass and shrubs.

Anyway, I just checked my connection speed: 27Kb down, and 9Kb up, over the cell phone. Better than nothing, I guess.

Makes a convincing case for sleeping.
