Dis 'tinctions

Overheard on KPFK a few minutes ago:

Activists write about what they can change; journalists write about what they can prove.

Not sure what that really means, if anything; but I wanted to write it down before I forgot it.

Heard from a number of you that the blog was down for awhile yesterday. I missed that, since I was out bike-riding with the kid, over the trails that thread across Elwood Mesa. Seemed a perfect day to stay away from computers. What a gorgeous place.
