Wondering about the difference

Warslurping outside a Starbucks between an appointment with the tax guy and the tar pits.

Hey, it's a free culture

AKMA has a cool idea: reading Larry Lessig's new book out loud. Count me in. Also Adam, Doug, Joi, Dubber, Halley and others.

The choice choice

John McCain thinks cable companies should offer a la carte rather than prix fixe menus of channels. I totally agree. In fact, I'd go farther than that, and put programs up for sale.

Though I'm not sure we need a new law that requires either. Just a way for markets to let their monopolies know what they want. We don't have that yet, and won't until a la carte programming is available over the Net.
