Wi-Ply

This is cool. I'm waiting in a parking lot between here and there while my sister picks up something in a store. Some hotspot named Marie (thank you, dear) is loaning me some access in the meantime. A little browsing, a little blogging, some email... nice.

Blogging truth to power

Some links to start the day off on a positive path:

Jonathan Peterson: Ideas as Property — the Big Lie of Big Content. Why suing a twelve year old girl for sharing her record collection is not the same as protecting your barn from intruders.

Jim Moore: False gods: Idolatry and the "first superpower". A critique of our "Strut loudly and whup with a big stick" foreign policy.

RageBoy: Mama don't let your babies grow up to be bloggers. Channeling Andrew Orlowski, perhaps?

Tech dirt: Spamming lets the Arianna out of the recall erection in California.

Mitch Ratcliffe on why the medium isn't the message.

That's about all I can blog here, through my narrow hotel room path (measured speed: 9600bps)...

SloMo

I'm at a hotel that only has dial-up. Worse, I can't connect faster than 24kbps.

Think I'll go find a coffee shop or something with wi-fi in the morning.
