Now what?

The old joke about comedy goes like this:

What's the secret of comed—

Timing.

Got back from L.A. about 30 minutes ago. I leave for Toronto in 12 hours. I need to finish my work on the June issue of Linux Journal, return about a dozen calls, get down to the shop to see if my laptop is ready (and hopefully, if not, swap hard drives with this one), and a huge pile of other stuff, including packing for the trip.

First thing I found in my office was a swarm of termites crawling out of the wood behind my desk. Next was that the Net was down.

Ah well. It's beautiful here. Flowers, sun, warmth, green...

So let's pretend I'm not complaining.

I vacuumed up the termites, taped over their holes and called the landlord (nice things to have sometimes, landlords). Then I reset the cable thingie and the router/hub thingie and now we're back on the air.

If yours is among the 345 emails that just came down, hope I get to it soon.

Later, dudes. Not too much later, though...
